Talán most senki sincs

The closing part of Barbara Spitzer's work with the community of the Teleki Square prayer house, after Juci bácsi and Tales of Teleki Square. The first film focused on one man and his shul; the second widened the view to the Jewish life of the 8th district. This one arrives at history itself.

The film grew out of research by the younger generation of the Teleki Square prayer house between 2003 and 2018. Young members of the community interviewed the witnesses and took them back to the places of their childhood — homes, schools, places of worship and the sites of persecution and the siege in 1944 — filmed between autumn 2020 and winter 2022.

They speak because someone finally asked. They had stayed silent because they thought no one was interested.

Spitzer Barbara dokumentumfilmje a Teleki téri zsidó imaház közösségéről forgatott két korábbi munkájának, a Juci bácsinak és a Teleki téri meséknek a folytatása. A Juci bácsi még egy ember életére és az imaház közösségére koncentrált, a Teleki téri mesék már a VIII. kerületi zsidóság életét is bemutatta. Most még jobban kinyílik a történelmi perspektíva: megérkezünk a nagybetűs történelemhez.

A film alapja és tárgya is a Teleki téri Imaház fiatalabb generációjának 2003–2018 között folyó kutatása. Az interjúkészítők a közösség tagjai – elhivatott fiatalok, akik visszaviszik interjúalanyaikat a második világháború által elpusztított zsidó gyermekkor helyszíneire: lakóhelyekre, iskolákba, imahelyekre, majd az 1944-es üldöztetés és az ostrom helyszíneire. A felvételek 2020 ősze és 2022 tele között készültek.

Azért beszélnek, mert valaki érdeklődött. Azért hallgattak korábban, mert azt hitték, senkit nem érdekel a történetük.
